Short answers on setup, platforms, pricing, and screen share.
These answers cover what URHIRED AI is, which platforms it runs on, what Free, Pro, and Pro+ cost, and how the overlay behaves in a screen share. It is a desktop app for macOS and Windows, not a browser extension. The user guide has the longer setup steps.
The basics
A desktop app that runs alongside your live interview — or conducts a mock round itself. It transcribes, reads regions of your screen when you ask it to, and answers across verbal, live coding, system design, and project. How it works →
All of them. URHIRED AI is a desktop overlay rather than a plugin or a browser extension, so it sits on top of whatever is on screen — Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Chime, CoderPad, HackerRank, CodeSignal, LeetCode. Zoom setup →
Yes — Windows 10 and 11, plus macOS 13 (Ventura) or later on both Intel and Apple Silicon. There is no mobile app.
Verbal for behavioral rounds, Coding for algorithm problems, System design for architecture discussions, and Project for take-home or local-repo walkthroughs. Each is a separate thread with its own model and response format. ⌘⌥1–⌘⌥4 (Ctrl+Alt+1–4 on Windows) jump to the 1st–4th surface in your interview’s tab order; Control+Command+Tab on Mac (Ctrl+Win+Tab on Windows) cycles to the next one.
Staying off the share
No. The overlay is undetectable when you share: it is marked as protected content, so screen-capture and screen-share APIs exclude it from the stream. You see it on your display; the shared frame does not contain it. You still speak or type every answer. Still run a thirty-second self-test in your meeting app before a round that matters — capture behavior can vary by app and OS. How it works →
Start a meeting with yourself in whichever app the interview uses — Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and so on — share a window or your whole screen (not a browser tab), and check the share preview. Toggle click-through and confirm the overlay does not receive mouse events. Thirty seconds per app and you know what your interviewer sees. Self-test →
Not under its real name if you rename it. You can rename the app so it doesn't show under its real name in Activity Monitor (macOS) or Task Manager (Windows). It does not defeat proctoring software.
Yes. URHIRED AI helps in the live session and in mock practice. The overlay is undetectable when you share, and you still speak or type every answer. That is not a guarantee against dedicated proctoring software. Our position →
Share a window or your entire screen. Tab sharing captures the page's own render surface, which is a different path from a desktop capture and behaves differently.
Models and features
The free plan includes GPT-6 Luna, GPT-5.6 Luna, GPT-5.4 Mini, GPT-5.4 Nano, and GPT-4.1 Mini. Pro and Pro+ add the rest of the catalog, including Claude and Grok. Assign a model per interview type in Settings → General. Full catalog →
No. Model access runs through your account server-side. There is no key to paste and no separate provider bill to manage.
Eighteen: C, C#, C++, Dart, Elixir, Go, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, PHP, Python, R, Ruby, Rust, Scala, SQL, Swift, and TypeScript.
Five ways of shaping every response: Conversational, Hints, Structured, STAR, and Explain. Switch from the control bar mid-round. More →
Yes. Mock interview mode is built for that — the app asks the questions, listens to you, then scores the round. Hints mode during a live interview also nudges you toward the answer instead of handing it over. Mock interviews →
Plans and billing
Yes — 15 session minutes every day on GPT-6 Luna, GPT-5.6 Luna, GPT-5.4 Mini, GPT-5.4 Nano, and GPT-4.1 Mini, for verbal, coding, system design, and project, plus cloud transcription and screen-share exclusion, with no credit card. Mock interviews, Claude, Grok, and the other models need Pro or higher.
Free is $0. Pro is $30/month ($81 for 3 months, $153 for 6). Pro+ is $60/month ($162 for 3 months, $306 for 6). Full comparison →
For card subscriptions, Settings → Profile in the desktop app opens the billing portal under Plan. Cancelling stops future renewals and you keep access through the period you already paid for. Crypto purchases are prepaid for 1, 3, or 6 months with no auto-renew — they simply end when the period expires.
Yes, when crypto checkout is enabled. Pro and Pro+ can be paid as a prepaid 1-, 3-, or 6-month package through Cryptomus — the full package price, no auto-renew. Card subscriptions stay on Stripe. See the refund policy for how crypto refunds work.
Yes, subject to our refund policy. If something genuinely did not work and support could not fix it, write to support@urhiredai.com.
Privacy and ethics
Interview turns go through our backend to the model providers to generate responses. See the privacy policy for what is stored and for how long, and the security page for how turns reach the model.
No. Screenshots are captured only when you press a capture shortcut. Audio is processed for live transcription rather than stored as a recording.
URHIRED AI helps in live sessions and in mock practice. You speak or type every answer. Some employers publish that they allow assistance; others publish that they do not. Those pages are their rules. Disclose where disclosure is required. Our position →
